Wasden: ‘We are reviewing and assessing legal options’

Idaho Attorney Lawrence Wasden just issued this statement: “We are reviewing the decision by the court and assessing all of Idaho’s legal options in this case.” He had no further comment on the 9 ^th Circuit’s decision today striking down Idaho’s ban on same-sex marriage.

In addition, his office said it believes the stay issued by the 9 ^th Circuit while Idaho appealed the case is still in place. Details are fuzzy at this point as to what happens next. U.S. Magistrate Judge Candy Dale had already issued an injunction blocking Idaho’s ban when she found it unconstitutional last spring; the 9 ^th Circuit issued a stay at Idaho’s request while it appealed.
