Great-grampa builds special memories
This spring the Senior Assistance Fund of Eastern Washington asked local grade school students to write essays in honor of Older American’s Month. About 30 students participated. The winning essay is by first-grader Dylan Greene, 7, of Madison Elementary in north Spokane.
Salute to Older Americans
My great grampa Dallas is special to me because he makes my heart happy.
He is a sweet grampa who gives big hugs. My great grampa tells good stories about his life and about fishing.
He took me fishing and it was so fun!
My great grampa fought for our country and it makes me feel proud. He makes me feel thankful.
But my great grampa Dallas is a rascal! I have to watch him because he tries to play tricks on me. You should watch him too!
I like that my great grampa is healthy. He grows a good garden.
I love my great grampa Dallas. He is special to me.
