What’s new to watch this week on pay-per-view and streaming services:

Pay-per-view

“White Bird in a Blizzard,” a drama starring Shailene Woodley as the teenage girl coping with the sudden disappearance of her enigmatic mother (Eva Green), comes to pay-per-view before its theatrical release.

“Neighbors” pits young parents Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne against the college kids of the frat house that sets up next door in a war that relocates “Animal House” to suburbia. Zac Efron leads the college rebels in the comic war of wills and pranks. Also on Blu-ray and DVD.

Also new: the crime thriller “Good People” with James Franco and Kate Hudson (available same day as theater), the science-fiction thriller “The Signal” with Laurence Fishburne (same day as disc).

Amazon Instant Prime

The Amazon original series “Transparent,” starring Jeffrey Tambour as a father who undergoes sex reassignment surgery, is a comedy with an indie film vibe. The complete first season is now available to Amazon Prime members to stream in its entirety.

TV binge watch: You have a month to catch up on supernatural show “Grimm: Season 3” (which is set and shot in Portland) before the fourth season launches in October. Prime also has the first two seasons if you really want to brush up on your Vessen.

Also newly arrived is the Comedy Central sketch comedy series “Broad City: Season 1” and “How I Met Your Mother: Season 9,” which brings the hit sitcom to its inevitable conclusion.

On Sunday, “The Walking Dead: Season 4” moves to the free streaming column for Prime members, which gives viewers two weeks to catch up before Season 5 launches on AMC on Oct. 12.

Netflix

Jesse Eisenberg meets his physical mirror image and personality opposite in “The Double” (2013), a darkly comic drama loosely based on the Dostoyevsky novel and co-starring Mia Wasikowska and James Fox.

The new seasons launch in early 2015, but you can watch the network sitcom “Parks and Recreation: Season 6” and the 1950s-set BBC drama “Call the Midwife: Season 3” now.

Netflix also has “How I Met Your Mother: Season 9” and “Revolution: Season 2,” the final season of both.

Hulu Plus

The second season of the cult supernatural drama “Sleepy Hollow” will be available to Hulu Plus subscribers the day after each new episode premieres on Fox. The season two premiere is now available (along with the complete first season). The nonsubscription side of Hulu will also have some episodes for a limited time.
