Frieda attended school in Java, North Dakota, and later worked as the floor supervisor for F.W.

Woolworth after the family moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota.

While living in Aberdeen she met her future husband Albert R. Malsom.

They were married on August 23, 1948.

In 1951 David was born also in Aberdeen.

Al and Frieda moved to Seattle, Washington, where Richard (Dick) was born in 1952.

From Seattle the family then moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where Dale was born in 1959.

Their travels then took them to Nampa, Idaho, where Neal was born in 1966.

The reason for these moves was job transfers due to Al’s job with Armour Foods.

While Al travelled during the week with his job, Frieda stayed at home and raised the five boys.

And that was a full-time job.

Mom loved playing cards, dancing and being with friends.

She was very competitive.

We could only smile when our phone calls would be answered with, “I can’t talk now, I’m playing cards.”

Her family will miss her, but feel blessed that she had such a long, full life.

Frieda is preceded in death by her husband Al and one grandson Brian.

She is survived by her sister Esther of Bowdle, South Dakota; five sons: Dennis (Peggy) of Gold Canyon, Arizona; David (Trina) of Oakdale, California; Richard (Marsha) of Spokane, Washington; Dale (Karen) of Spokane, Washington; and Neal (Kimberly) of Scottsdale, Arizona; twelve grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren.
