Criminal justice careers on display

Forum Friday at SFCC

High school students interested in the criminal justice system and career opportunities in the legal profession are invited to attend the Youth and Justice Forum on Friday at Spokane Falls Community College.

There will be a demonstration with police dogs, a panel with local professionals, a conversation with a court reporter and a court interpreter, career booths and more.

Spokane Mayor David Condon, Spokane County Superior Court judges Greg Sypolt and Annette Plese, Spokane police Chief Frank Straub, and Municipal Court Judge Mary Logan are scheduled to attend the forum.

Spokane Public School students Madelynn Thierolf and Tyra Harris helped plan and organize the event, and students in the NewTech Skills Center’s criminal justice class are producing and acting in two skits.

The forum is 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SFCC, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive.
