CC Spokane sweeps Wenatchee Valley in baseball
Logan Jackson’s two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday gave Community Colleges of Spokane a 6-5 victory and a sweep of Wenatchee Valley at Spokane Falls CC.
The Sasquatch won the Northwest Athletic Conference baseball opener 7-5 as Adam Paulson (6-0) allowed six hits and one earned run in six innings.
Kyle Murray (3-0) pitched out of an eighth-inning jam in the second game after the Knights (11-9, 5-5) tied the game at 5 against Alex Rees.
Jordan McGowan started CCS’ ninth-inning rally with a leadoff single. After two strikeouts, Kasey Kelly was hit by a pitch and Darian Barlow loaded the bases with a single.
The Sasquatch used a five-run second to take control in the opener. CCS had six hits in the inning.
CCS (18-5, 7-3) is in a four-way tie for first place in the East Region with Columbia Basin, Treasure Valley and Walla Walla.
