Education Notebook: Free vaccines at high schools

In partnership with the Spokane Regional Health District and the Group Health Foundation, Spokane Public Schools is offering free special immunization clinics at five high schools.

The clinics are designed to help get children up to date on their school-required vaccines.

All clinics will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.:

Monday: Rogers High School, 1622 E. Wellesley Ave.

Tuesday: Ferris High School, 3020 E. 37th Ave.

Wednesday: Lewis and Clark High School, 521 W. Fourth Ave.

Next Thursday: Shadle Park High School, 4327 N. Ash St.

April 17: North Central High School, 1600 N. Howard St.

NWC benefit auction scheduled April 25

Northwest Christian Schools will hold its 22nd annual benefit auction, “A Touch of Country,” on April 25 at the school.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and the dinner buffet will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The live auction at 7 p.m. will include Delta Air Lines tickets, a 10-week-old AKC Golden Retriever puppy, a guided ATV tour for four, theater gift cards, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and an Oregon Coast getaway.

Reservations are required, and tickets must be purchased by Monday. Admission is $20. Auction attendees can print a reservation card at nwcs.org/auction or pick one up at the school, 5104 E. Bernhill Road, Colbert.

Concert features Valley jazz bands

An all-Valley high school jazz band concert, featuring jazz bands from Central Valley, University, East Valley and West Valley high schools, will be Wednesday. The concert will also feature the Whitworth University Jazz Ensemble.

The show begins at 7 p.m. at West Valley High School, 8301 E. Buckeye Ave.
