85-year-old woman dies after hitting semi truck near Hauser

An 85-year-woman died Saturday after she hit a semi truck at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Pleasantview Road near Hauser, Idaho. The accident was reported at 3 p.m. The woman was driving a 1995 Aerostar van west on Prairie Avenue and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. She hit a northbound semi driven by Rupinder Shokar, 43, of British Columbia. The woman’s car hit the side of the semi’s trailer and she died at the scene, the press release said. The woman’s name will not been released by the Sheriff’s Office until her family has been notified of her death.
