Obituary: Helton, Ronald L.

Age 64

HELTON, Ronald L. (Age 64) Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away on April 17, 2015 at the age of 64.

Ron was born on March 18, 1951 in Buford, N.C.

He grew up in Spokane, attending U-High.

Ron worked for Kaiser Aluminum for 24 years before leaving to pursue his dream of owning his own construction company.

He succeeded and was an extremely talented builder.

It was during this time Ron had an accident and was told he would never walk again.

This was when his determination shined through and he indeed walked three months later.

Ron continued living life to the fullest despite his disabilities.

Ron married Sylvia on January 5, 1992.

Together they loved spending time with family, and close friends.

Many special memories were made at Priest Lake camping, boating, and fishing.

Prior to Ron’s accident they enjoyed early mornings golfing together.

Ron especially enjoyed building and flying his impressive collection of RC airplanes.

He loved to laugh, and was always up for an adventure.

Ron leaves us with many special memories, and funny stories that continue to make us smile.

We love and miss you and know that you are watching over all of us.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years Sylvia, whom he loved dearly; his children Kristi (Tim) Wagner, Ryan Helton, Kevin (Lisa) Bowman, and Duane (Ellie) Bowman; grandchildren Jessica and Nicholas Wagner, Luke and Leah Helton, Brendan and Mason Bowman, Alyssa Marquez, Keira Ellison and Lance Bowman; brother John (Jeannie) Walsh, and sister Debbie Freeman.

Ron also leaves behind many special friends.

Ron is now running and playing with his beloved puppies Joey and Charlie.

Viewing will be on Friday, April 24 from 10:00am -10:45am with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 am at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. 4th St., CDA, ID 83814.

Burial will be at 1:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery, 408 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, ID 83854.
