Chad Marshall suspension will keep him out of Timbers match
Fri., April 24, 2015
The MLS Disciplinary Committee on Thursday announced a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine against Seattle Sounders FC central defender Chad Marshall for what was ruled “a serious foul that endangered the safety of an opponent.” The play occurred Saturday in the 13th minute of Seattle’s 3-1 win at Colorado. The suspension means Marshall will miss the Sounders’ next match: 6:30 p.m. Sunday against the rival Portland Timbers at CenturyLink Field. Marshall was the 2014 MLS defensive player of the year. He likely will be replaced by veteran Zach Scott (Gonzaga).
