Obituary: Perkins, Douglas Ford “Doug”

Age 75

PERKINS, Douglas Ford “Doug” (Age 75) Doug passed away on April 16, 2015.

He was born in Walla Walla, WA on October 18, 1939 to Paul Gardiner and Eva Marie (Ford) Perkins.

He went to college to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Puget Sound.

Doug was also in the Army National Guard.

He worked as a chemist for 10 years at Shell Oil Company and Georgia Pacific.

Then he changed his fields and went into the insurance business as a Safety and Loss Control Specialist for over 25 years.

When he “retired” he became a private consultant in this field; and also went into business for Databar with his friend Eric Docken.

Doug is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie J. Perkins, who passed away in 2008.

He is survived by his sons, Darren Perkins (Lori), and Dwayne Perkins; his daughter Deborah Brito (Otoniel); fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Doug’s Life is scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2015 at 3:00 pm at ChangePoint Fellowship, 14415 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
