The Dirt: Barrister Winery opening new tasting room

Barrister Winery is opening a tasting room in the Liberty Building, 203 N. Washington St., across from the new Davenport Grand Hotel.

Shannon Ahern, owner of the building, is remodeling Auntie’s former east entrance for Barrister.

Greg Lipsker, one of the winery’s co-owners, said Barrister will maintain the location of its winery and tasting room at 1213 W. Railroad in western downtown Spokane.

The new tasting room is aimed at visitors to Spokane, especially convention traffic, he said.

“We see this as a gateway to the winery,” Lipsker said.

Construction is underway and the goal is to have the new tasting room open Oct. 1, he said.
