Obituary: Shafer, Tom

SHAFER, Tom 50 Years of Life On August 5, 2015, the world lost a great Son, Brother, Father, Husband, Grandfather, Uncle, Friend and Ambassador to country music.

Tom was born in Spokane, WA, on December 1, 1964, to Loren and Mary Shafer.

He attended and graduated Deer Park Schools with siblings Brenda, Ronda, Ron, and Andrea.

He enjoyed a lifetime of family, friends, fishing, camping, and country music, a Shafer “Family Tradition.”

Tom worked for Travis Pattern & Foundry for many years.

He also loved playing his original country songs, the Steelers and Route 66.

Tom is survived by his wife, Tami Shafer; children, Martee (Luke) Snyder and D.J.

Shafer; two stepsons Daniel and Blake Smith ; his parents, Loren and Mary; siblings, Brenda (Kevin) Greeley, Ronda (Chris) Reardon, Ron (Barb) Shafer and Andrea (Brian) Hord; grandchildren, Jaden, Rayn, and Rose; along with many more beloved family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his two sons Anthony James in 1986 and Marshall Thomas in 1992.

A memorial open house will be held in Tom’s honor at the Peone Prairie Cemetery in Mead, WA, on August 28, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. A Life & Times gathering will be held at Deer Park Bowl, August 26, 2015 at 8:00 P.M.
