TODAY: “Show Me a Hero,” David Simon’s provocative miniseries about racial conflict and politics in 1980s Yonkers, New York, ends tonight with two more hours – and hopefully a few more Springsteen tunes. 8 p.m., HBO.
toDAY: It’s the end of the line for “Falling Skies” as the sci-fi action series calls it a wrap. We can only hope that Noah Wyle and his pals can reclaim Earth and save humanity once and for all. 10 p.m., TNT.
MONDAY: You’ve seen “Big Brother.” Now check out “Big Blue Live,” where the reality TV stars aren’t human lunkheads, but whales, dolphins, sea otters and other marine creatures. This three-night nature series celebrates the environmental rebirth of Monterey Bay. 8 p.m., KSPS.
MONDAY: It’s senior year for the teens of “Awkward” as the high school dramedy launches its fifth season. That means Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards) has a lot of decisions to make about her post-graduation future. 9 p.m., MTV.
TUESDAY: “Drunk History” returns for a third season of boozey hilarity. And yes, we will most certainly drink to that. 10:30 p.m., Comedy Central.
WEDNESDAY: Now it’s really time to bring the funny on “Last Comic Standing.” The top 10 contestants face off in five head-to-head showdowns. The winners then advance to the finale. 10 p.m., NBC.
WEDNESDAY: Tonight, the ever-hilarious “Key & Peele” delivers a sketch in which their alter egos – the valets – discuss “Game of Thrones.” We’re already cracking up. 10 p.m., Comedy Central.
THURSDAY: Since its premiere in 2011, “Beyond Scared Straight” has reached out to hundreds of troubled teens. Now, as the series comes to a close, the finale looks back at nine seasons of explosive encounters and inspirational breakthroughs. 9 p.m., A&E.
FRIDAY: The latest installment of “American Masters” turns the spotlight on Althea Gibson, who, in the 1950s, emerged as the unlikely queen of the segregated tennis world. She was the first black player to play and win at Wimbledon and the U.S. Nationals. 9 p.m., PBS.
FRIDAY: “Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church” is a new documentary that recalls the legendary musician’s 1970 performance at the Atlanta Pop Festival. The film features interviews with band members Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell, as well as Paul McCartney and Steve Winwood. 9 p.m., Showtime.
SATURDAY: On tonight’s installment of “Mythbusters,” Jamie and Adam want to know if it’s possible to dodge a Stormtrooper’s gun as they take on “Star Wars.” May the force be with them. 9 p.m., Discovery Channel.
