CenturyLink still working to restore phone service to 1,100

From staff reports

CenturyLink continues to discover more phone outages as a result of the Nov. 17 windstorm. Earlier this week, CenturyLink reported that its landline outages were under 500, but those had increased to about 1,100 by Friday, the company reported.

Sue Anderson, CenturyLink’s vice president of operations for Washington, said in a prepared statement that the company had to wait to start many repair efforts until power was restored. The company is asking customers that are having problems with their service to call (877) 348-9005.

“We’re still navigating downed utility poles and cables that create safety concerns for our technicians,” Anderson’s statement said. “Currently, we have about 100 locations where downed poles and cables are an issue, and we are working through these areas as quickly as possible. We greatly appreciate our customers’ patience and support as we work to recover from this storm.”
