Cover-up similar to Watergate

So, David Condon lied to us about Frank Straub. What’s the surprise? Condon is a politician. I’m old enough to remember a lot of Spokane mayors, and I don’t recall one politician prior to Condon.

Condon liked Frank Straub when they first met, as Straub was being fired from his Indiana job (“Embattled Public Safety Director Frank Straub is resigning in the wake of the mishandled evidence in the Officer David Bisard investigation that led to the resignation of the police chief and suspensions of two other key commanders.”)

Condon engineered Straub’s selection as police chief, despite a law enforcement panel’s recommendation that he restart the search. The cost of this charade in wasted time and money, who knows?

It appears that it took a while for Condon to find out about Straub’s true character, and needed to find a way to cover up this behavior. To me, this reflects very poorly on Condon’s judgment and character.

I’m old enough to remember Watergate. This stinks of the same tactics, cover up the truth until after the election and hope people will forget. Makes me wonder what else Condon is hiding and who helped him cover this up.
