Northern Lights official selected for Idaho’s Public Utility Commission

Former Idaho Rep. Eric Anderson has been chosen to fill a vacancy on the state’s Public Utilities Commission.

Anderson, of Priest Lake, was chosen by Gov. Butch Otter to fill the term of Commissioner Mack Redford, who died last summer. Pending confirmation by the state Senate, Anderson will serve the remainder of Redford’s term, which expires in January 2019.

The three-member Public Utilities Commission sets rates for utilities and enforces state laws affecting utilities and railroads.

Anderson is a director and vice president of Sandpoint-based Northern Lights Inc. He was chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee during his final term in the Legislature.
