Liberty Lake police blotter: Cell phone video helps police make arrests

Cellphone video helped Liberty Lake Police make arrests in two cases involving assaults recently.

Police were called to the 22000 block of East County Vista Drive on Dec. 10 on a reported domestic violence incident. The woman told police the man had punched her in the face, police Chief Brian Asmus said.

However, the man had recorded the incident and the video showed that the woman was the aggressor, Asmus said. She was arrested for domestic violence assault.

The second incident was reported Dec. 11 in the 24000 block of East Spotted Owl Lane. A woman reported another woman had “verbally assaulted” her in front of several children and then spit on her, Asmus said. The victim in the incident had taken video of the confrontation. The woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault and harassment.
