GSL boys basketball: Gonzaga Prep rallies to beat University

Logan Adams scored 23 points and Gonzaga Prep dug itself out of a first-quarter hole and remained undefeated with a 64-63 Greater Spokane League win at University on Saturday.

The Bullpups trailed by eight after the first quarter but responded with a 22-5 second-quarter run. Devin Culp added 18 points and Sam Lockett dished out five assists for Gonzaga Prep (6-0, 4-0), which won the rebounding battle 40-31.

University’s Nick Lerma made 5 of 7 3-pointers and scored 17 points. Austin Dill and Josh Hager each added 16 points for the Titans (3-5, 3-3).

Lewis and Clark 57, Central Valley 51: Naje’ Smith had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Isaiah Hernandez added 10 points as the Tigers (5-2, 4-1) held on to beat the host Bears (5-2, 4-2). Central Valley’s Justis Simmons made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points.

Ferris 62, North Central 40: Mike Ervin had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Shamrock Campbell added 16 points and nine rebounds as the Saxons (3-4, 3-3) beat the visiting Indians (0-7, 0-5). Jace Van Lierop added 13 points for Ferris, which won the rebounding battle 39-21. Damion Carter and Riley Smith had 15 points apiece for North Central.

Shadle Park 51, Mt. Spokane 36: Tanner Groves had 12 points and eight rebounds and the Highlanders (6-2, 5-1) beat the visiting Wildcats (1-5, 1-5). Markieth Brown added 10 points for Shadle Park. Sam Stiles hit three 3-pointers and scored 23 points for Mt. Spokane.

Mead 60, Rogers 44: Kobie Hanson scored 17 points and Dedrick Pakootas added 10 as the Panthers (4-3, 3-3) snapped a two-game losing skid with a win over the host Pirates (1-6, 1-5). Mead made 19 of 26 free throws. K.J. Hassett led Rogers with 18 points.
