GSL girls roundup: Central Valley tops Lewis and Clark for first place

Lexie Hull made all 10 of her free throws and finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds as Central Valley took over sole possession of first place in the Greater Spokane League with a 49-44 win over Lewis and Clark Saturday at Central Valley.

Hailey Christopher added 14 for the Bears (7-0, 6-0).

The Tigers (5-2, 5-1) were led by Riley Lupfer, who scored 28, including 14 of LC’s 16 fourth-quarter points.

North Central 58, Ferris 53: Megan Dean scored 22 points and dished out five assists and Quincy McDeid added five 3-pointers and 19 points as the Indians (3-5, 3-3) edged the host Saxons (4-4, 3-4). Ferris’ Abby Muelheim had 16 points and seven rebounds.

University 42, Gonzaga Prep 33: Kaitlin Pannell hit three 3-pointers and scored 20 points to guide the Titans (4-4, 4-2) past the visiting Bullpups (3-5, 3-3). University made 14 of 18 free throws, including all 10 in the final quarter. Gonzaga Prep’s Mia Scelfo scored 10 points.

Mead 57, Rogers 20: Amanda Chan scored 14 points and Payton Douglass added 12 as the Panthers (4-3, 4-2) routed the host Pirates (0-7, 0-6). Mead opened the game on a 17-6 run and lead 31-9 at the half. Rogers’ Yvette Bailey scored a team-high six points.

Mt. Spokane 46, Shadle Park 32: Jaidyn Lyman scored 14 points and Aspyn Adams added 12 as the Wildcats (3-3, 3-3) opened the game on an 18-7 run and beat the host Highlanders (0-7, 0-6). Shadle Park’s Abby Bauernfeind scored 16.
