Four corners: Idaho

Coming up: Thursday at North Dakota, 3 p.m.; Saturday at Northern Colorado, 1 p.m.

Outlook: Nine days after ending nonconference play with a 68-51 win at UC Davis, the Vandals open Big Sky Conference play at North Dakota. Idaho went 1-8 on the road in Big Sky play last season but has an opportunity to improve on that this year with three straight to open and five of the first seven conference games on the road. The biggest question mark going into this weekend is the playing shape of sophomore forward Arkadiy Mkrtychyan, who has struggled to produce after having surgery on his left knee prior to the season.

Idaho leaders

Scoring: Victor Sanders, 14.5 ppg

Rebounding: Nahshon George, 4.8 rpg

Assists: Chris Sarbaugh, 2.5 apg
