For the second straight week and third time this season, senior point guard Drew Brandon of Eastern Washington is the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week.
Brandon averaged 21 points, nine rebounds, four steals and 2½ assists in wins at Montana and Montana State as the Eagles recorded their first Big Sky road sweep since the 2003-04 season.
Brandon, who had just two turnovers in 79 minutes, helped secure wins by making 11 of 14 free throws. He made 14 of 33 shots from the field, including 3 of 11 3-pointers.

Alec Johnson, a 6-foot midfielder from Lake City, is enrolled at Gonzaga after transferring from North Idaho College and has joined the Bulldogs.
Johnson helped lead the Cardinals to the Northwest Athletic Conference title game and earned NWAC East All-Region and National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region honors.
At Lake City, he was first-team All-Inland Empire League as a senior and competed for the Idaho Thunder and Coeur d’Alene Sting select teams.
Washington and Washington State have been picked ninth and 10th, respectively, by Pac-12 coaches in their preseason poll.
UCLA, the 2013 national champion which missed the postseason last year, and Oregon, second in the conference two of the last three years, were picked 1-2.
Following in order were Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon State, USC, Arizona, California, UW, WSU and Utah.
