NBA: The San Antonio Spurs’ huge fourth-quarter rally helped Gregg Popovich reach the 1,000-win milestone Monday night in Indianapolis.

Marco Belinelli’s baseline jumper with 2.1 seconds left capped San Antonio’s 95-93 victory over Indiana.

Popovich became the ninth coach with 1,000 regular-season wins and became the third-fastest to achieve the feat. He also joined former Utah coach Jerry Sloan as the only coaches in league history to win 1,000 games with one team.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 19 points and Tim Duncan added 15.

Former EWU star Rodney Stuckey scored 18 for Indiana, which had its season-best winning streak end at three.

The Pacers appeared to take control by building a 79-65 lead after three quarters.

But the Spurs scored nine straight to tie the score at 91, tied it again at 93, took the lead on Belinelli’s shot and held on when George Hill’s 3-pointer bounced off the rim.

• Clippers top Mavs: DeAndre Jordan had 22 points and a career-high 27 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Clippers won without Blake Griffin, beating host Dallas 115-98 after the Mavericks lost Tyson Chandler and Monta Ellis to injuries in the first 4 minutes.

With Dallas’ interior defense and rebounding gutted by the loss of Chandler, Jordan dominated while Chris Paul led the Clippers with 25 points and 13 assists.

Chandler injured his left ankle just 39 seconds in and went to the locker room about a minute later. Ellis joined him there with 8:03 left in the first quarter after hurting his left hip.

• Griffin out until March: Blake Griffin will miss three to four weeks after the Clippers’ All-Star forward underwent surgery for a staph infection in his right elbow. He is averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists.

Portland guard Damian Lillard replaced Griffin on the Western Conference team for Sunday’s All-Star game.

• Kings, Karl talk: A person with knowledge of the talks says the Sacramento Kings and George Karl are discussing a deal for him to take over as the team’s coach.

If hired, Karl would coach the Kings in their first game back home on Feb. 20 against Boston.

Florida State pulled within one at 70-69 as Xavier Rathan-Mayes drove the lane for a layup after dribbling under the basket with 11 seconds to go. But the Seminoles couldn’t close the gap any further.

Tyus Jones added 16 points and 12 assists for Duke (21-3, 8-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), which won its fourth straight.

It’s the first time Oklahoma State (17-7, 7-5 Big 12) has won three straight games against ranked teams during a regular season.

Taurean Prince had 20 points for Baylor (18-6, 6-5), which had won three conference games in a row by at least 18 points since a 64-53 loss at Oklahoma State two weeks ago. Rico Gathers had 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Bears, his fourth consecutive game with at least 15 rebounds.
