Four corners: Gonzaga Bulldogs
Coming up: Tonight vs. LMU, 6 p.m. (KHQ); Saturday vs. Pepperdine, 6 p.m. (KHQ)
Outlook: Gonzaga thumped the Lions 72-55 last month in Los Angeles, but LMU is making strides under first-year coach Mike Dunlap. After a 0-5 start in the WCC, LMU has won four of its last eight. Leading scorer Evan Payne (17.8 ppg) comes off the bench but typically plays 30-plus minutes. Junior forward Marin Mornar is averaging 19 points and 7.8 rebounds in the last four games. Third-leading scorer Ayodeji Egbeyemi (10.1 ppg) will be a game-time decision. He’s missed the last three games with a quadriceps injury.
The Bulldogs’ 78-76 win over Pepperdine was their closest decision of the season. The Waves are tied for third place with Brigham Young but swept the season series.
