Adams earned chance to play for Oregon
I have always thought it’s unfair that a student athlete from an FCS school (like Eastern) that transfers to an FBS school (like Oregon) should have to sit out one year, but an FBS athlete transfering to an FCS school can play immediately.
Eastern Washington has benefited greatly from this rule. Guys from WSU, UCLA, Oregon, Washington etc. … have come to Eastern to play immediately, without penalty.
Now, (as Gonzaga knows … see Barnum, Wesley, etc…) the rules have changed for graduates with eligibility left. Beau Baldwin sure doesn’t cry when he gets “drop downs” from FBS schools that can come in and play for him immediately. Why should he cry now?
Vernon Adams has been awesome for EWU, and he is graduating and he has earned his chance to play college football on the biggest stage (something he has probably wanted to do since he was a kid!).
I for one wish him well. I haved loved watching him play and hope he has a bright future.
