Steven Gerrard joining L.A. Galaxy after Liverpool career ends

CARSON, Calif. – Steven Gerrard will join the Los Angeles Galaxy in July after completing his illustrious career with Liverpool.

The midfielder, 34, announced last week he was leaving Liverpool after the English Premier League season to move to Major League Soccer.

The Galaxy on Wednesday confirmed Gerrard as a designated-player signing an 18-month deal.

Gerrard is set to join 2014 MLS MVP forward Robbie Keane and defender Omar Gonzalez as designated players on the Los Angeles roster.
