Former Sonic Robert Swift pleads not guilty on gun charge

Former NBA player Robert Swift pleaded not guilty Monday in Seattle on a charge of possessing a sawed-off shotgun. The King County prosecutor’s office said he remains in jail with bail set at $20,000. Swift was arrested last Tuesday along with another man suspected of attempting to break into a home in Gold Bar. Swift was wanted for failing to show at a court hearing in November involving a shotgun found in an October raid on a home in Kirkland where he was living. His roommate was charged with drug offenses. The 7-foot-1 Swift was selected by the Sonics with the 12th pick in 2004 and was cut by Oklahoma City in 2009. – AP
