Mike’s Donuts moving to Hi-Co Village in Spokane Valley

Mike’s Old Fashioned Donuts is moving from 11413 E. Sprague Ave., where the Spokane Valley shop has been located for 12 years, to the Hi-Co Village at 9219 E. Sprague Ave.

The last day at its current location is Feb. 7.

Owner Mike Britton said the building was sold and it’s being torn down.

“I really wanted to retire from here and sell the business to someone else,” Britton said. “Part of me wanted to throw in the towel. Moving is just a pain.”

Britton is not sure when he’ll reopen at the new location but hopes his bakery will be down for just a week.

The new location was a dry-cleaning business so it has to be remodeled, and that’s keeping Britton busy every day when he’s done making doughnuts.

He’s getting some new bakery equipment and hopes it’s a good move for the business.

“I am looking forward to when the move is over,” Britton said, “and I can get back to just worrying about making doughnuts.”
