Obituary: Jenson, Lisa Lou (Gahley)

Age 58

JENSON, Lisa Lou (Gahley) (Age 58) Of Palmer, AK passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2015.

Lisa was born September 6, 1956 in Spokane, WA.

She grew up in Spokane and spent the summers at Loon Lake where they had a cabin all of her childhood.

Because of that she developed a love, passion and need to be by the water and trees.

In her adult years she could frequently be found spending time with family and friends at Priest Lake and the Yaak River.

Lisa graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1975.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Dwayne Jenson in 1976.

They moved to Alaska in 1980 where she worked as a school nurse for 25 years.

Her love and commitment to the kids knew no boundaries.

Her love of family and friends was strong, unending and faithful.

Lisa was very involved with her church and served the Lord through her dedication to Stephen Ministries.

She had a huge heart for the hurting and people in need, often putting them before herself.

She was also a lover, advocate and rescuer of dogs.

Some of Lisa’s hobbies were creating beautiful mosaic pieces, lovingly scrapbooking all the years memories of family, friends and pets, planting in her greenhouse each summer, and the Alaska Fair, which she attended almost daily.

Lisa more recently became active and a proud member of the Well Armed Woman.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dwayne Jenson; her sons Clay and Corey Jenson of Palmer, AK; birth mother Charlene Alderman of Spokane, WA; sisters, Roxanne McAdams of Baker City, OR and Jan Isakson of Bothell, WA; and brother, Mitch Alderman of Spokane, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth C. Gahley and Verna Scott Gahley.

Lisa was able to continue giving even after her death by being able to give the gift of life to others as an organ donor.

Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Lisa and her smile will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 12th at 1:30 pm at Mirabeau Meadows (Mirabeau Park), 13500 E. Mirabeau Pkwy, Spokane Valley, WA, with a potluck reception to follow immediately, provided by the Jenson family.
