Shooting near North Central High School
Mon., July 13, 2015

A man was shot near North Central High School early Monday morning.
He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the shoulder, according to Spokane Police Lt. Rex Olson. Police were searching for the shooter and had blocked off Sinto Avenue between Howard and Washington streets.
Neighbor Karen Hall reported hearing a gunshot around 8:15 a.m.
“The apartment manager was running around like a chicken with his head cut off,” she said.
The apartment building is known as a trouble spot in the neighborhood, Hall added.
“Every day the cops have been here,” said Tab Vincelet, another neighbor. “It’s crazy.”
Almost two years ago a man threatened his girlfriend with a 3-foot metal sword in the same building.
Kyle Cope, who lives across from where the shooting occurred, said he just moved there but plans to leave soon.
“This kind of crap keeps happening,” he said. “We’re moving as soon as this lease is up.”
