Problem spot: Residents watch as technicians gather evidence in a shooting Monday at the Daniels Apartments on Sinto Avenue near Howard Street in Spokane. A man was shot early Monday and transported to the hospital with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening shoulder injury, Spokane police Lt. Rex Olson said. Police were searching for the attacker and had blocked off Sinto between Howard and Washington streets. Neighbor Karen Hall reported hearing a gunshot around 8:15 a.m. The apartment building is known as a trouble spot in the neighborhood, Hall said. Almost two years ago, a man threatened his girlfriend with a  3-foot metal sword in the same building. As of Monday evening, no suspects had been apprehended, police spokeswoman Teresa Fuller said.
