Obituary: Blount, William Allen “Bill”

Age 97

BLOUNT, William Allen “Bill” 4/27/1918 - 7/7/2015 Bill was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Inez and Hans Blount.

He grew up in Coeur d’Alene with his two sisters, Elizabeth and Jean.

Bill was a WWII veteran and spent 3+ years overseas.

While stationed in Australia he met and married his wife, Dawn.

They were married 51 years, before her death in 1996.

On his return from overseas he started working for Kaiser Aluminum and spent 33 years there before retiring in 1979.

Bill and Dawn raised two sons in the Spokane Valley, living in the same house 61 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dawn; both sisters, a grandson and his son, Robert.

Bill is survived by one son, Trevor (Joyce); three grandchildren, Rhonda and (Mark) Rowe, Sonya and (Doak) York, Zachary Blount and (Angela Smith); five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Bill was a super father, a wonderful grandfather and a great friend, respected and admired by all who ever met him.

Bill was definitely a man who walked the walk and was proud to be who he was.

We all loved and respected him and we are going to miss him greatly!

As per Bill’s wishes there will be no services.
