Service animal law abused

The service animal law is an easy law to break, and pet owners are. Strapping a vest or backpack that says “service animal” to their pet; creating a community of pet owners gone wild. It is inappropriate to allow pets around raw foods, just like operating rooms or burn units where the animal’s presence may compromise an environment and raise concerns about health violations, like having pets in shopping carts. Who knows what bacteria have now contaminated the cart?

Business owners and citizens need to call for better identification of the real deal. Stop allowing pet owners to claim they are service animals because they just don’t want to leave pets at home.

I have allergies to animals. A lady came in with two dogs on a leash to the food court. They had service animal vests on, and the dogs were skittish, jumping. Clearly, not trained. I had to leave as I started to have a hard time breathing due to my allergies. What about other people’s rights?

Why not provide an opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal’s presence by having an employee to assist the person with the disabilities.
