Obituary: Eshleman, Cheryl Anne (Delauder) “Cheri”

Age 62

ESHLEMAN, Cheryl Anne (DeLauder) “Cheri” February 12, 1953 - July 7, 2015 Cheri was born in Spokane, Washington, on February 12, 1953, and she died from a brain aneurysm on July 7, 2015.

She was 62 years young.

She grew up in Spokane, and travelled extensively, ultimately making her home with her husband/soulmate of 25 years, Donn.

Cheri was an artist, and her finest canvas was her garden, which was legendary among family and friends.

She also painted, and her paper creations were fabulous.

She was a tremendous cook, though she rarely wrote down recipes, preferring to improvise.

Her pies and soups were her specialties, and will be greatly missed, along with her smile, at family gatherings.

Incredibly, the last weekend of her life was spent at the lake with all of her family at a family reunion, swimming, boating, and smiling.

She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a generous person, and that extended to after she passed.

She had checked the organ donation card on her license, and Donn was able to put this final gift into motion.

Cheri will continue to give life to others, like she gave life to the plants and flowers in her garden.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Donn, siblings Lucille Gatza of Sarasota, FL; John (Patty) DeLauder of Spokane; Tim (Sue) DeLauder of Vancouver, WA; and Dan (Cynde) DeLauder of Spokane, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her many friends that she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Bill, her parents, Dee and Mary, and her brother Lane.

In memory of Cheri, please plant something and watch it thrive, and remember the joy that was always present when she was gardening.
