Obama assaults gun rights

James Ramsey parrots the Marxist-left anti-gun lobby’s lie that the confiscation of guns will make us crime-free (“Gun violence uniquely American,” July 4).

Mexico’s gun laws are even more repressive than England’s, yet Mexico has one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Conversely, gun ownership is high in Switzerland, but the Swiss have a low crime rate. Much of the violence in Mexico and the United States is drug- and gang-related.

Gun control extremists continue to ignore one irrefutable fact: Millions of Americans use firearms safely and responsibly. Barack Obama’s continual assaults on the Second Amendment, which is the cornerstone for the entire Bill of Rights, are despicable.

Un-Americanism has been a benchmark for the lawless Obama administration.
