Records: Man regrets fleeing police in Civic

A Spokane Valley man arrested after deputies said he led them on a high-speed chase Sunday night later told investigators “that’s the last time I’m running from the police in a Honda Civic.”

Michael W. Rosslow, 27, and Jacob A. Woodward, 22, were booked into Spokane County Jail late Sunday after a chase ended at an RV retailer in Liberty Lake. Spokane County sheriff’s Deputy Justin Palmer attempted to pull the car over as it was driven erratically in the area of Broadway Avenue and Flora Road, according to court  documents.

Palmer said the 1997 Honda Civic, driven by Rosslow, led him on a chase topping 70 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood after 7 p.m. When Rosslow stopped the vehicle at the RV seller, Woodward – who deputies said was hiding in the back – fled the car and broke into the lot, hiding under an RV. A sheriff’s dog found Woodward, who was armed with a folding knife, according to court  documents.

Rosslow later lamented his choice of getaway vehicle to investigators, according to court documents.
