Age 95
She was born October 6, 1919 in Sheyenne, North Dakota to Axel and Emma (Sontag) Hagge.
Nellie received her education in Sheyenne and New Rockford, ND public schools.
She married Gordon Boyd on December 3, 1938.
They lived in New Rockford and Devils Lake, ND prior to moving to Fargo, ND in 1963.
In 1982 they moved to Spokane, WA to assist their son, Edward (Eddie), in his recovery from an industrial accident.
Her husband passed away in May 1990.
She was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church, formerly Church of the Good Shepherd, in Spokane Valley.
Nellie is survived by her daughter Janice (Fred) Nelson, Stillwater, MN; her daughter-in-law Hilda Boyd, Spokane Valley, WA; a grandson, Michael (Gail) Nelson, Woodbury, MN; and granddaughters Cathleen (Jeff) Walter, Otis Orchards, WA, Colette (Jay) Jalbert, Greenacres, WA and Camille (Jay) Alderson, Chattaroy, WA.
She also leaves eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her parents, her brother Chester Hagge and sister Julia Gromatka.
A memorial service will be held at Advent Lutheran Church in Spokane Valley at a later date.
Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements with private interment at Pines Cemetery.
