Getting growing

Central Food in Spokane’s Kendall Yards has a new greenhouse.

“We will be using it to give a jump start to our hot weather plants: tomatoes, peppers and melons. By Mother’s Day we will be in full swing with our planting for the season,” said chef and owner David Blaine, who started a garden on his restaurant’s patio last year.

Central Food is using the 8-by-4-foot Urban Greenhouse from the new Spokane Valley-based Omega Greenhouses. The startup offers greenhouses in three sizes, starting at $299. On the Web: omega greenhouse.com and eatcentralfood.com.
