The Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival, set for Aug. 8-10 at Medical Lake, has announced its lineup for this year.

On the bill are Laurie Lewis and Kathy Kallick, Phillips, Grier & Flinner, Growling Old Men, local favorites Acuff & Sherfey, among others. The complete schedule is available on the festival website. Tickets are on sale, too. A weekend pass will set you back $50; single-day passes range from $20 to $35. Visit www.bluewatersbluegrass.org for all the details.

Pigs on the horizon

The full lineup for Pig Out in the Park hasn’t been announced yet, but the organizers have let word out about a couple of shows.

Too Slim and the Taildraggers, the born-in-Spokane, moved-to-Nashville blues act, will return. A big name in the classic rock scene, Big Brother and the Holding Company, also are on the schedule. Look for the rest of the lineup to be announced soon.

Pig Out is held over Labor Day weekend at Riverfront Park. Visit spokanepigout.com for more information.

Festival wrap

We won’t know until Thursday who’s on the bill at the Festival at Sandpoint. Elkfest, however, is a known quantity.

The annual festival held in the Browne’s Addition neighborhood will feature a host of local and touring acts, including Aryon Jones and the Way, Flying Spiders, Pine League, Bossame, Rust on the Rails and Lyrics Born.

Elkfest, held June 5-7, is free. For details, visit elkfestspokane.com.

Volume, set for May 29-30, is the unofficial kickoff for the local festival season. It features 90 bands playing at eight different Spokane venues. For details, visit volume.inlander.com.

Finally, blues fans know the place to be is the Wallace Blues Festival, July 10-12 in the historic Silver Valley town. Performers such as Sammy Eubanks, Too Slim and the Taildraggers, Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method, Kenny Neal and the Sara Brown Band take over downtown Wallace for three days of ripping blues. Tickets are on sale now; visit www.wallacebluesfestival.com for details.
