Obituary: Henning, Lee Edward

Age 75

HENNING, Lee Edward Chief Photographer, U.S. Navy (Ret) August 8, 1939 -” March 29, 2015 Was born in Spokane on August 8, 1939, and attended school in the Mead School district.

He entered the military in 1955 and traveled the world working in photography for the U.S. Navy, including his final tour of duty as part of Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica.

After twentyfive years of military service, Lee retired to Deer Park in 1979 with his wife Pam Henning and their three children.

He attended upholstery classes at SFCC and started a business working on boats and classic cars.

During his retirement he enjoyed many hobbies, including home improvements and many hours of fishing on Waitts Lake.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren: Tracey, Cory, Jason, Nikki and Preston.

Lee is survived by his five grandchildren, his wife Pam of 55 years, two sons Mickey (Joyce) Henning and Alan Henning, daughter Teresa (Greg) LaBute, and his brothers Elwyne and Mike.

Lee is preceded in death by his sister Beverly Goudge.

Lee passed away at home on March 29, 2015.

A military honors service will be held at Washington State Veterans’ Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington on May 15 at 2:15 pm.

Afterwards, a celebration of Lee’s life will be held at Life Center Church, 1202 N. Government Way.
