Thank you for votes

A gracious “thank you” to all those who voted to support Spokane County Proposition No. 1, the renewal of the sales tax for juvenile detention facilities and jails.

This revenue is used for juvenile staff, programming for youth and families and updating facilities. Spokane County Juvenile Court Services has become one of Washington’s leaders in the use of data-driven, evidence-based programming models. Outcomes show a reduction in recidivism and work toward reforms designed to reduce racial disparity.

The system is working with schools and community partnerships to reduce truancy by engaging, supporting and motivating students to stay in school, and by developing and enhancing relationships with community stakeholders.

Your vote and continued support helps the juvenile court system serve youths and their families, ultimately reducing costs to the taxpayers.
