CWM: Why Schindelbeck’s flier grates
CWM (RE: Schindelbeck attack appals Edinger ):
I take one major issue with this and it has absolutely nothing to do with politics or who’s side anyone is on. Toby had his voting record
questioned a couple of weeks of ago and the reaction from both sides was pretty sharp to say the least, and frankly I do not support the guy, but I personally felt that his explanation for missing the elections while his father was terminally ill was completely rational and should have been beyond contestation. There were people who criticized him and I felt that it was very unfair and slightly disheartening. No matter if they did decided to open themselves up to criticism and scrutiny by running they are still human beings and have lives and families and problems just as everyone else and I think sometimes we forget that and fail to act with a certain amount of tact that we would normally extend to people no matter our opinion of them.
Toby had folks who came to his defense including himself via an email, and that was completely justified and again more disheartening that he even needed to do so. So I am trying to wrap my mind around how this is even justified, how much credibility can you have when you turn around do the exact same thing to someone else, that you condemned others for doing to you. This in my mind is borderline worse, as Toby was criticized by Edinger’s supporters, and not Edinger himself. As the response states how can Toby be so “void of….compassion” when that is exactly was his stance was for people questioning his voting record during a very difficult time in his life. Makes no sense whatsoever that this whole thing has devolved to this point. Really???
Thoughts?
