Early morning fire displaces two apartment residents in Browne’s Addition
An early morning apartment fire in the Browne’s Addition neighborhood of Spokane has left two people without homes, but no injuries were reported.
A single unit of the complex at 2023 W. Third Ave. sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, according to a news release from the Spokane Fire Department. Firefighters received the call around 3:40 a.m.
Two sleeping occupants of the apartment that burned were able to evacuate safely. Occupants of the other nine apartments also were able to exit safely, the Fire Department news release said.
The Red Cross is assisting the two displaced residents. The Fire Department estimated damages at $20,000. The cause is under investigation.
