Former Kootenai County Clerk Dan English took down incumbent Coeur d’Alene City Councilman Steve Adams in Tuesday’s election. In unofficial results, English got 2,645 votes for 56 percent of the total. Adams received 1,802 votes and 38 percent. Bruce MacNeil, another challenger, received 263 votes. “I think (voters) were looking for positive — there’s been a lot of negative in our election,” English said at an election-night party at Fort Ground Grill. English, 64, said voters know he is middle-of-the-road politically and has been in the community for years. He was previously on the Coeur d’Alene City Council and a Coeur d’Alene School Board trustee. He is also well known for his work with nonprofits in the community, including being executive director of North Idaho Habitat for Humanity/David Cole, Coeur d’Alene Press. More here.

Question: How will the election of Dan English (now known as “Dan of the City”) affect the Coeur d’Alene City Council?
