Obituary: Olson, Inger Jenny
Age 99
Inger was born July 19, 1916 in Trondheim, Norway to Lawrence and Johanne Dahle.
She emigrated from Norway to the United States in 1924 with her family.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.
Inger married Arthur Olson on April 16, 1939 at Grace Lutheran Church in Spokane.
Inger enjoyed family first, reading, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, camping, sports, and creating her many crafts.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for more than 60 years.
She worked as a meat wrapper for Safeway before retiring in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years in 2010; and three sisters.
Inger is survived by her daughter Karen (Gary); and sons Skip (Janis) and Dave (Erin) all of Spokane; seven grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will take place Friday, November 6, 2015, 2:00-6:00 PM at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines, Spokane Valley, WA.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015, 1:00 PM, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8304 E Buckeye, Millwood, WA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Inger’s memory to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice House of Spokane (South).
