With guidance from officials with the Idaho Department of Lands, several Coeur d’Alene firefighters on Monday cleared brush and removed a small number of unhealthy trees to mitigate possible fire hazards. The routine work, conducted annually, targets trees near public trails and also trees that pose a risk to firefighters while fighting fires on the hill.
