Quarterfinals
4A
Woodinville Falcons (7-4) at Gonzaga Prep Bullpups (11-0)
When: Saturday, 1 p.m.
How they got here: Woodinville defeated Davis 38-6 and G-Prep defeated Battle Ground 42-14.
At a glance: Woodinville’s four losses have been to postseason qualifiers Mt. Si, Skyview, Issaquah and Skyline. Falcons 6-foot-5 receiver Michael Roth presents a challenge. G-Prep’s defensive front has wreaked havoc on quarterbacks all season. This will be the Bullpups’ stiffest postseason test to date.
1A
Royal Knights (11-0) vs. Colville (9-1)
When: Friday, Gonzaga Prep, 6
How they got here: Royal defeated Charles Wright 69-0 and Colville defeated Eatonville 29-0.
At a glance: Both teams have stout defenses, but the Indians face the most difficult challenge. The No. 1-ranked Knights’ offensive statistics aren’t gaudy because they beat most of their opponents by sizable margins and played many reserves. Six times Royal scored 61 or more points.
Scheduling note: Contingency plans to move state football playoff games scheduled to be played at G-Prep have been worked out.
G-Prep continued to be without power Thursday after the wind storm that blew through the region Tuesday.
The Royal/Colville State 1A quarterfinal, scheduled for 6 on Friday at G-Prep, will be played at the same time on Saturday at Albi Stadium if power isn’t restored by noon Friday.
G-Prep athletic director Paul Manfred is hopeful power will be in place when the Bullpups entertain Woodinville in a State 4A quarterfinal on Saturday at noon. If not, the game would be moved to Albi, beginning at the same time.
2B
Okanogan Bulldogs (10-1) vs. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (11-0)
When: Friday, Moses Lake, 7
How they got here: Okanogan defeated Davenport 52-7 and LRS defeated Mabton 21-7.
At a glance: In an early nonleague game between the teams, LRS escaped with a 28-21 victory. LRS coach Greg Whitmore said the Bulldogs were missing three starters. The Broncos lost a day of preparation Tuesday because of the windstorm. Whitmore said his team must play better than it did in the first meeting to have a chance to beat the defending state champs.
Asotin Panthers (8-2) vs. Northwest Christian Crusaders (9-2)
When: Friday, West Valley, 7
How they got here: Asotin defeated Brewster 7-6 and NWC defeated Warden 34-18.
At a glance: The Panthers will be NWC’s toughest opponent since an early loss to LRS. The question is whether Asotin can slow down the Crusaders’ high-octane offense.
Liberty Lancers (7-3) vs. Napavine Tigers (9-2)
When: Saturday, Centralia, 1
How they got here: Liberty defeated Toledo 16-6 and Napavine defeated North Beach 20-14.
At a glance: For the second straight week Liberty treks to western Washington. The unranked Lancers eliminated fifth-ranked Toledo and set their sights on No. 6 Napavine. Liberty’s strength is defense and that will have to be the difference against the Tigers.
1B
Republic Tigers (9-2) vs. Liberty Christian Patriots (11-0)
When: Saturday, Edgar Brown Stadium (Pasco), 1
How they got here: Republic defeated Garfield-Palouse 50-42 and Liberty Christian defeated Odessa-Harrington 60-30.
At a glance: The Tigers are in tough against No. 1-ranked LC, which has throttled most opponents. Patriots QB John Lesser is the best 8-man player in the state and would be a standout for any team in any classification.
Touchet Indians (9-1) vs. Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors (10-1)
When: Saturday, Moses Lake, 5
How they got here: Touchet defeated Cusick 42-6 and ACH defeated Selkirk 52-8.
At a glance: Touchet went toe to toe with Liberty Christian two weeks before falling 58-50. The Warriors will need another qualify performance from QB Dallas Isaak, who has scored 53 touchdowns – 34 rushing and 19 passing. “This might be the best 8-man game this weekend,” ACH coach Brandon Walsh said.

State finals
4A
Bishop Kelly Knights (9-2) vs. Sandpoint Bulldogs (8-3)
When: Saturday, 1, Kibbie Dome
How they got here: Sandpoint defeated Rigby 31-22 and BK defeated Century 56-20.
At a glance: BK is going for a third straight state title. No other 4A team has won three in a row since the classification was established in 1984. Sandpoint’s challenge is stopping BK’s power-run offense. The Bulldogs’ offensive versatility could be the difference.
