Lake Stevens police commander files lawsuit against city
EVERETT, Wash. – The Lake Stevens police commander said he is being wrongfully fired and has filed a lawsuit.
The Herald reported on Friday that 53-year-old Dennis Taylor said city leaders were trying to ruin his reputation.
Mayor Vern Little and former city administrator Jan Berg were named as defendants.
City officials declined to comment to the newspaper.
The lawsuit centers on a report by an investigator hired by the city that determined Taylor was being dishonest concerning Taylor rebuking another supervisor.
Taylor’s attorney said the city was retaliating against Taylor because he supported a former officer who received a $325,000 settlement from the city following a sexual harassment claim.
