Tax rules raise ire

I’m a stickler for paying my due share of taxes to keep a healthy, functioning government. Having just purchased a newer used trailer, I went to the licensing agency to switch title and pay my due taxes. I envisaged having to pay about $80 in taxes and title transfer/agency fees. I ended up paying better than 50 percent more.

I found out I had to by a new license plate (the existing one was in mint condition and only had two tags on it meaning less than two years old). Not only that, but the six months left on the “old” license plate is not good anymore. I had to buy new 12-month tabs starting today.

Do we have state representatives who vote on and approve these oppressive and unfair rules, especially the voided tabs part? I even find the sales tax charge every time a vehicle changes hands a greedy and bitter pill to swallow. You can count on my (and my empirical influence) for a no vote for any future tax raises.
