Men’s basketball: Staudacher’s career-high 25 points sends Pirates past Colorado College
Matt Staudacher made 11 of 18 shots and finished with a career-high 25 points as the third-ranked Whitworth Pirates’ men’s basketball team clipped Colorado College 73-66 Saturday at the Tiger’s Thanksgiving Classic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
George Valle and Derek Isaak added 18 points apiece for the Pirates, who won the rebounding battle 42-33.
Andrew Maddock had a team-high 19 points for Colorado College (1-3).
Whitworth (5-0) opens Northwest Conference play at home on Friday against Lewis & Clark.
Love guides CCS past Southwestern Oregon
Jake Love scored 30 points on 10-of-21 shooting and Community Colleges of Spokane beat Southwestern Oregon 105-77 at the Red Devil Classic in Longview, Washington.
Love made 4 of 7 3-pointers and all six of his free-throw attempts.
Levi Taylor added 20 points and Race Martin added 15 points and 14 rebounds for CCS (4-0), which will play Mt. Hood Sunday in the title game.
Ivan Harper had 20 points for the Lakers (3-1).
